his programme develops students’ skills as performers through placements with well-established professional companies. Work-based learning students work with the host company and always perform on stage with them in professional settings as part of the programme. Students specialising in Performance are almost always full-time students and work for the whole year in a company setting (36 weeks).

This programme is structured around the needs of the companies and enables students to focus on the very specific demands of a performance career.

Please note: due to Visa restrictions set by UK Visas and Immigration it is not possible for us to place students from overseas (outside the EU) with host companies for work-based learning. Therefore the programme is open only to applicants from the UK/European Union.

Host companies who have worked alongside LCDS to deliver the Work-based Learning programme include BalletLORENT, Bern Ballet, Danish Dance Theatre, Henri Oguike, Hofesh Shechter, James Wilton Dance, Jasmin Vardimon, Maresa von Stockert, Motionhouse, National Dance Company Wales, Rambert Dance Company, Richard Alston Dance Company, Scottish Dance Theatre and Tavaziva Dance.

If you would like to apply for more than one of the companies for the Work-based Learning programme, you will need to submit separate applications for each company.
