A slightly different cover than usual this week...this song popped into my YT recommendations a couple weeks ago, and it immediately captivated me. Though simple in its composition, it was clearly written straight from the heart, retelling a bittersweet experience that many, many people can relate to. Her calm and smooth voice also conveys the emotions very effectively - sad, yet earnest and reminiscing.

My arrangement is deliberately straight forward as well, because I want to leave room for the melody to sing out on its own. For that, I rely more on expressive tone, rather than technique. I wanted to make sure I captured the pure emotions of the song more than anything else. To anyone else that is going through similar situations right now, I hope that those emotions can reach you as well.
