Описание: How does a beer at a pub lead to a medical breakthrough that could buy first responders ten minutes to save a life? Working with the US Military, Australian researchers are developing a new pharmacological tourniquet, ALM, which stops bleeding and could save lives in the first critical ten minutes after injury for soldiers and civilians Dr Hayley Letson is the Senior Research Fellow in the Heart, Trauma and Sepsis Research Laboratory in the College of Medicine and Dentistry at James Cook University. For the past decade Hayley has been developing a novel fluid therapy for resuscitation of traumatic injury on the battlefield with support from the US Military. Dr Letson's work has been internationally recognized with three consecutive American Heart Association Young Investigator Awards.
