Ann Graybiel, Ph.D. is an Institute Professor in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an investigator at the McGovern Institute for Brain Research. Her research aims to understand the role of the basal ganglia in guiding normal behavior as well as its implication in Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and addiction.
Dr. Graybiel has earned many notable awards and distinctions including the National Medal of Science, the James Killian Faculty Achievement Award, Kavli Prize in Neuroscience and most recently, the Gruber Neuroscience Prize. She is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
