If Windows 11 feels slow, boots forever, or your PC acts “busy” right after startup, this is the fastest real fix you can do in under a minute—without risky tweaks or registry hacks.
Most people don’t realize this: the moment Windows loads, your “Startup apps” can launch multiple background processes, updaters, and tray services that eat RAM, spike CPU, and delay everything you want to do—gaming, browsing, editing, or just opening apps.
In this short, I show you the clean method:
1) Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc)
2) Go to Startup apps
3) Disable the heavy ones you don’t need at boot
The 7 common offenders (depending on your system) are:
• Discord
• Steam
• Epic Games Launcher
• Adobe Creative Cloud
• OneDrive (if you don’t use it daily)
• Microsoft Teams
• Random “Updater” apps from old installs
Pro tip: use the “Startup impact” column and disable High-impact items first. You can always turn them back on later—this is safe because you’re only stopping them from auto-starting, not uninstalling anything.
If you don’t see Startup apps inside Task Manager, you can also do it in:
Settings → Apps → Startup
After you restart, your boot time usually improves, idle CPU calms down, and Windows feels smoother—especially on older laptops and budget PCs.
