Tensions continue to run high in some parts of Cape Town amid SANTACO's stay-away. The City of Cape Town has confirmed the death of one person, while three others have been injured as a result of the strike. A motorist reportedly opened fire at protesters who were throwing stones at cars near the Cape Town airport.
The taxi association embarked on a week-long stay-away in the province over the impounding of their vehicles.
