Описание: Bob Horn of Riverdale, IL shares this video which documents the building of the newer Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, at the furthest southern tip of Chicago at 138th and Leyden Avenue. This film was commissioned by one of the St. Mary priests. The Catholic population of the area increased dramatically in the 1950's in the area, resulting in a number of newly built churches, including Queen of Apostles in Riverdale in 1954.
