A shocking incident has come to light from South Delhi's premium Lodhi Colony area, where a 28-year-old newlywed woman died after allegedly falling from the rooftop of a residential building. The victim, identified as Akriti Sutar, a resident of Pushp Vihar, was found severely injured near the NDMC Flats in Palika Kunj. She was immediately rushed to the AIIMS Hospital, where attending doctors tragically declared her brought dead.

The tragedy occurred just 72 days after her marriage on April 24, 2026. Akriti, who worked as a professional sales executive in Chhatarpur, had gone to her office on the day of the incident. According to her family, they spoke to her on Saturday evening as she left work, but her mobile phone became completely unreachable shortly afterward. They later discovered via the Lodhi Colony Police Station that she had fallen to her death.

Strongly rejecting any possibilities of suicide and describing her as an emotionally resilient individual, Akriti's family has filed a formal complaint alleging she was brutally murdered by her husband and her in-laws for ulterior motives. The victim's husband is reportedly the son of a high-ranking Section Officer in the Labour Department. The Delhi Police have initiated strict legal proceedings under Section 196 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and have formally informed the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) to oversee the inquest proceedings and verify all angles of the case.
