Did Iran’s Nuclear Standoff TRIGGER the 2026 Israel-Iran Conflict?
On 28 February 2026, coordinated Israeli and United States strikes targeted Iranian military and nuclear-linked facilities. Iran responded with missile and drone attacks across Israel and several Gulf states, marking one of the most serious escalations in the Middle East in years.
But the confrontation did not begin in 2026.
In 2002, previously undisclosed Iranian nuclear facilities at Natanz and Arak were revealed, raising international concern over Iran’s nuclear program.
Tensions continued to grow in the following years, including the Stuxnet cyberattack discovered in 2010, the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) nuclear agreement, and the United States withdrawal from the deal in 2018 followed by renewed sanctions.
Direct confrontation intensified further in January 2020, when the United States killed Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani in Baghdad. Iran later launched ballistic missile strikes on US bases in Iraq.
These events, along with years of proxy conflict and regional tensions, contributed to the escalation that culminated in the February-March 2026 Israel-Iran confrontation.
This documentary provides a factual, chronological breakdown of how nuclear tensions, sanctions, cyber operations, and military exchanges shaped one of the most significant geopolitical rivalries of the modern era.
