In 2014, Avant Garde Dance toured India as part of Impulse, the British Council’s season of UK contemporary dance in India.
Avant Garde Dance performed in Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai, and delivered an outreach programme of workshops in each city. The tour culminated in a collaborative performances with Chennai dance company, Swingers.
Led by Artistic Director Tony Adigun, Avant Garde Dance pushes the boundaries of hip-hop and contemporary dance. Their dynamic performances have musicality at their core and explore a myriad of styles, themes and media.
