And somehow, that's not even the most remarkable thing about her. Fu Bao was born on July 20th, 2020 — the first panda ever naturally bred in South Korean history. She weighed 197 grams. Lighter than a chocolate bar. She arrived in the middle of a pandemic, when the world was heavy and small joys were hard to find. And somehow, without trying, she became one of them. The man who raised her, Kang Cheol-won — known to millions as Grandpa — was once pointed at by a stranger as a warning to children.
