Overnight on 10 October 2026, drones struck the oil terminal of the Novoshakhtinsk oil products plant in Rostov-on-Don, the site once known as Yug Rusi. The fire burned for at least four days, another tank exploded on 13 October, and satellite images published on 21 October show at least 8 of the terminal's 12 storage tanks damaged.

This terminal loads fuel onto river-sea tankers for export and, according to independent reports, has supplied fuel to the Russian military. Yet Rostov's governor talked about more than 100 drones shot down, fires, six people injured and two vessels damaged in Azov, and never mentioned the terminal at all.
