Let me present its theoretical aspect before you. Every religion has its own principles, its own nature, and its own system. Our philosophy also has its own system. Our philosophy is universal — we speak about the welfare of the entire world and about goodwill among all human beings. We are not confined within a narrow boundary. The present circumstances may be different, but this is universal knowledge. It is a functional process that arises within this body itself. People come with great curiosity, and their diseases get cured. Why do they get cured? what is impossible through the name of Ram? And it is true that our country has been passing through a period of decline and centuries of subjugation have almost extinguished our original consciousness such, perhaps, is the characteristic of the Kaliyuga. This is the situation and you all know it. Now, as for the purpose for which you have come, look, I have not set out to cure diseases. Ailments are alleviated through our spiritual philosophy it is true. But Indian Yogic philosophy shows the path to liberation, it speaks about liberation. Its goal is moksha (salvation), not curing the disease. Liberation becomes possible only when one connects with the Supreme Power and attain Samadhi and to attain Samadhi one must be free from all sufferings, diseases should be cured physical disease, mental disease must be cured and addictions must be renounced, mental stress must be alleviated. The mind must become fully concentrated on the Divine. Only then does a human being evolve toward completeness and spiritual perfection. There are countless afflictions that create obstacles on the path, A person’s attention remains focused on illness it cannot remain fixed on the Divine. Yoga that is being practiced today is not true yoga, it is merely physical exercise. The true purpose of yoga is liberation — disease was never its central concern. Yet this essential truth is rarely spoken of. People claim to cure diseases through yoga, then why diseases have not been cured? So what is our doctrine? Let me explain it briefly to you. Look, in this world, among all the religions that exist, ours is the only religion that is now being scientifically proven as true. Earlier, scientists used to ask me, “Show us results in our laboratory through your yoga; only then will we believe.” Now I have given them hundreds, even thousands of proofs in their own laboratories. I have presented these proofs to scientists, to the state government, and to the central government — the government that claims to rule in the name of Ram. I told them, “See what Ram is actually doing.” But no one feels the need to look at it. They only want power. That is fine — perhaps that is written in their destiny. I have no problem with that. I do not belong to any political party. I understand ‘Ram-Niti’ (the policy of righteousness), not politics. So it does not matter whether you belong to any caste, religion, or varna (social group) — it makes no difference.
