✅ Plastic Bag (Not Ziplock)
✅ Water 💧
✅ Common Salt (NaCl) 🧂
✅ Dish Detergent 🧼
✅ Tea Strainer ☕
✅ Beaker 🧪
✅ Ethanol (C₂H₅OH) 🍶

🧪 Chemical Reactions Involved:

1️⃣ Breaking Cell Membranes with Detergent
The dish detergent contains surfactants that break down *phospholipid bilayers* of cell membranes and nuclear membranes, releasing DNA.
Reaction:
🫧 Lipid Bilayer + Detergent → Dissolved Membranes + Free DNA

2️⃣ Salt Helps DNA Clump Together:
Salt neutralizes the negative charge on DNA, allowing it to come together instead of staying dissolved in water.
Reaction:
🧂 Na⁺ ions from salt neutralize DNA’s negative phosphate backbone → DNA strands stick together*

3️⃣ Ethanol Precipitates DNA:
DNA is soluble in water but **insoluble in ethanol**. When ethanol is added, DNA becomes visible as a white, stringy substance.
Reaction:
🧪 *DNA (soluble in water) + Ethanol → DNA precipitate (visible!)
