Works best if the printer has not been updated. This is an original genuine cartridge used until empty.
Sometimes after 2-3 refills of the same cartridge the printer may show the message "Cannot Detect Ink" and "Please replace a genuine Brother part." with a question mark over the ink volume bar (has happened with my black). I just keep on printing without a problem and check the ink manually from time to time.
