Brain fog related to COVID-19 is real and it's just part of the damage the virus can cause, according to a new study. The study, published this week in the journal "Nature," found COVID-19 infection can cause damage to brain tissue. Researchers compared the pre- and post-COVID-19 brain scans of 785 people in the United Kingdom and administered cognitive tests. They found more tissue damage in the brain, a greater loss of gray matter, decreased executive function and a slower ability to process information in people who had the virus than in people who did not.
