Killian & Emma [+Henry] ● Say it all again [AU]

Story: The Swan princess (Emma) and Killian Jones are in love and the kingdom is ecstatic over their engagement. But when the castle is attacked during a royal ball, their happiness is robbed as the Swan princess is taken away by the evil queen.
Years later, Emma is still trapped in a tower, presumed dead by everyone in the kingdom, and Killian has become a pirate (Captain Hook). But then something strange happens…a boy lands in the enchanted forest, through a portal, with a book. Henry, a boy from our world, has calculated that the characters in his book are his family from a parallel universe and that he must help save his mother (Emma) so that “his parents” in the fairytale world can also have a happy ending.
Henry finds Hook, tells him who he is and that Emma is still alive. Together they travel to a tower across the sea and find Emma. Emma, happy to be back with her love, is not entirely convinced about Henry’s true identity and thinks that the sooner he leaves the better. After all…she does not know how to be a parent.
Trying to find a portal to get Henry home, Emma discovers along the way that she has grown fond of the boy and that she feels a need to protect him. Henry doesn’t want to hurt Emma and Killian* so he decides that it’s better to sneak away in the night, when Emma and Killian think that he’s asleep, instead of forcing them to watch him leave them forever. The next morning, Emma and Killian realize that Henry is missing and rush through the woods to find him. They arrive just in time and watch as Henry prepares himself to leave them behind. But in the last second, Henry turns around and notices Emma and Killian watching him. He tells them one more time that he is their son and Emma (finally) accepts his words.
Back home, things return to normal and Henry continues living his life with his real** parents. But he never forgets the adventure that he has been on and the heroic versions of his parents who, too, have gotten their happy ending.

*Killian/Hook also cares deeply for the boy and even tries to suggest that maybe the ship could be his, Emma's AND Henry’s home. Killian/Hook is - however - also more understanding about the fact that the boy is not his and has to return home.

**Since this is a parallel universe, Emma and Killian in our world don’t share the memories of Emma and Killian from the enchanted forest, leaving Henry the only one with memories of both worlds. As far as Emma and Killian in our world are concerned, the book is just a fairytale.
