Описание: Over the past few weeks, the Peoples Democratic Party has been rocked by a leadership crisis due to attempts by some members of the party to oust its National Chairman, Uche Secondus.

However, on Tuesday, party stakeholders met in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, and proposed that the National Convention of the PDP previously slated for December should now take place in October.

Reacting to the development, a member of the PDP Board of Trustees, Chief Olabode George, hailed the outcome of the meeting, noting that the Secondus-led National Working Committee had turned the party into a “private company”.

He said the PDP had woken up and was ready to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress.

According to Chief George, he had considered leaving the PDP, but for the prompt intervention of the party’s governors and other stakeholders.
