Below are the 9 Landforms descriptions:
1) Cave - A hallow in a cliff formed by wave
action enlarging a crack in the cliff. The
crack grows into a cave by hydraulic action
and abrasion.
2) Cliff - A steep rocky slope that may
overlook the sea. Cliff are usually
formed because of processes called
erosion and weathering.
3) Headland - Headlands are formed when
the sea attacks a section of coast with
alternating bands of hard and soft rock.
This leaves a section of land jutting out
into the sea called a headland.
4) Arch - Arches are formed at headlands,
the waves eventually erode though the
headland, creating an arch.
5) Stack - A detached pillar of rock on a sea coast
separated from the mainlandby erosion. They are
formed when part of a headland is eroded by
hydraulic action, which is the force of the sea or
water crashing against the rock.
6) Peninsula - Land bordered by water
on three sides but connected to mainland.
The formation extends from a large
mainland area to the water source
nearby.
7) Stump - The stack will still be eroded by
the waves until all the rock is weakened
and the entire structure collapses, it will
form a stump.
7) Beach - A beach forms when waves
deposit sand and gravel along the
shoreline. and pebbles.
9) Bay - A bay is an inlet of the sea where the land
curves inwards, usually with a beach. Bands of soft
rock such as clay and sand are weaker therefore
they can be eroded quickly. This process forms bays.
