David Soyza’s music is rich in mystery, cinematic images, and deep emotional clarity.
His compositions move between the intimacy of a neighborhood jazz club and the wide scope of film, painting, and storytelling.
Together with an outstanding international line-up, Soyza presents a new program inspired by Berlin’s vibrant contemporary jazz scene - music written for his upcoming second album, as well as works first performed at the German Human Rights Film Prize Awards in 2022.
With two harmony instruments at the front line, the quartet unfolds an unusually broad palette of sound: transparent, adventurous, and constantly shifting in roles. From accompaniment to bold improvisation.
