Well, maybe, just maybe they detect the whiff of corruption within the city of Philadelphia, specifically the Pilly PD, the Philly Medical Examiner's Office, and the Office of the District Attorney. Or, perhaps, they are looking into whether or not Ellen's civil rights have been violated because of the actions of cops, MEs, and DAs in the city.

Either way, I know of at least one subpoena that's been issued, though the US Attorney's office won't confirm or deny that an investigation has been opened.
