Starting onion seeds indoors is one of the first and most important steps in planning the vegetable garden — especially here in New Jersey (Zone 7a).
In this video, I show exactly how I start my onion seeds from scratch, including:
• Seed trays and cell size
• My seed starting mix
• Sowing depth
• Covering with vermiculite
• Watering
• Using a humidity dome
• Lighting setup and timing
Onions take time to grow, so getting them started early indoors gives them a strong head start before transplanting outside in spring.
