I picked up this voice changer recently and wanted to turn it into a guitar effect.
The ring modulator effect is very similar to the Craig Anderton Electronic Projects for Musicians project from years ago. It has black goop over the phase locked loop chip and it’s amplified by a LM386.
To raise the guitar sound level into the effect, I made part of a Sans Amp buffer (emitter follower) to feed into the microphone input. Then a volume output knob and 1/4” jacks and a simple power supply input were added.
For $7.99 it’s not too bad as a guitar effect.
