𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗠 𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: Park Ranger Clears Homeless Man from Venice Beach Facility During Sweep

Описание: VENICE, CA — Friday, August 1, 2025 — A coordinated multi-agency cleanup operation was conducted Friday morning along Venice Beach, focusing on the boardwalk, public restrooms, beach pathways, and adjacent areas as part of the City of Los Angeles’ continued effort to enhance sanitation, safety, and public access at its high-traffic coastal sites.

Personnel from the Los Angeles Park Rangers, LAPD, Department of Public Works, LA County Beaches and Harbors, and Clean Harbors Environmental Services participated in the sweep. Crews removed debris and enforced camping restrictions under Los Angeles Municipal Code §63.44(b), which prohibits unauthorized lodging in city parks and beach facilities.

During the operation, a Park Ranger contacted an unhoused individual who had been residing inside a Venice Beach public restroom. The man was asked to vacate the premises to allow for sanitation crews to clean the facility. Advance notices had been posted prior to the operation. Items left behind were discarded in accordance with city protocol.

No arrests or citations were reported.

Los Angeles Park Rangers led the enforcement, with LAPD officers providing scene support and ensuring the operation remained peaceful. Outreach workers from the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) were on-site distributing hygiene kits, food, water, and clothing to individuals impacted by the cleanup.

Two staff representatives from Councilwoman Traci Park’s office were present to observe and assist with coordination, in line with the city’s strategy of combining enforcement measures with social service outreach.

Officials reiterated that these cleanups are part of a broader municipal initiative to maintain clean, safe public facilities while offering housing and care pathways to residents experiencing homelessness.
