This set of questions tests your conceptual understanding of Number Properties and Number Theory and its application to solve Number Theory Data Sufficiency questions. The video discusses two approaches for the first question - what one could do in the exam if one were to see such a question for the first time and second a more rigorous approach.
Question 1: 0:21
If P is a positive number, is (P^2 - 1) divisible by 12?
Statement 1: P is greater than 3.
Statement 2: P is prime.
Question 2: 13:31
If P is a positive number, is P prime?
Statement 1: (P+ 2) and (P + 4) are prime.
Statement 2: (P - 2) and (P - 4) are prime.
The correct answer for these questions are as follows:
Q1 | C; Q2 | C
For both the GMAT DS Sample questions, you need both statements together to answer the question asked.
