Sky News host Paul Murray says fears the coronavirus-induced lockdown could result in spiking domestic violence cases, have been proven to be unfounded.
“We have not seen a spike in reported cases of domestic violence,” he said.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported “domestic violence assaults reported to or detected by NSW police in March 2020 were consistent with those from the same period in 2019”.
Mr Murray said “the data is showing an interesting picture” where “there is no spectacular difference” between assault rates during lockdown and prior to lockdown.
