African Sculpture. Top Tips coming up! Here’s an antique African wooden sculpture I bought yesterday. Depicting a seated man in a contemplative pose. He’s wearing a wonderful protruding beard which symbolises wisdom, masculinity and virility. He dates to around the mid 20th century, he’s carved from one piece of timber and he has a lovely colour and patination. I’ll clean and wax him, which will take no time and explain how you go about aging an African wooden sculpture.
