This is the best time of year to treat your bees for varroa because the mites breed prolifically in the brood cells with bee larva. December and January are broodless periods, so the mites don't have larva to feed on.
I used Api-Bioxal, using the dribble method, pouring roughly 40ml over the bees. It's recommended to use 50ml per hive, but I have quite a small colony that was only covering 8 frames, rather than a full 10 frames.
Hopefully they make it out of winter.
