Since the fingering of these scales is basically the same, it is simple to go between the two scales and change the feel of feel of the solo. The licks are shown in E, but they can be moved up and down the neck so you can play them in different keys (except for lick 5, which is an E-only turnaround lick).
Take note of how lick 3 ends on the V note (B), which leads nicely in the B9 chord; the same with lick 4, which ends on the IV note (A) and leads nicely into the A9.
