The old Mountain West had their own TV Network and this was the biggest game they had every broadcasted. BYU's own Todd Christensen did the color commentary and the game itself for Cougar fans became an instant classic which continued a string of successful seasons during the early 2000's. This was the first Mountain West Championship for the Cougars.
