A Contemporary House in Minas Gerais that Blends Rustic & Minimalist Design
Located in a gated community in the Minas Gerais countryside, this residence is a showcase of modern architecture with artisanal and sustainable techniques. The design combines charred wood, natural concrete, and cumaru ceilings to create a space that’s both elegant and warm.
Highlights of the Project:
Shou Sugi Ban Facade: Japanese charred wood technique provides unique aesthetics and durability.
Natural Concrete Slats: Minimalist and refined, adding texture to the exterior.
Warm Cumaru Wood Ceilings: Flowing from the social areas into the couple’s bathroom suite.
Integrated Social Area: Kitchen, dining, and living spaces harmoniously connected.
Articulated Wooden Brise: Ensuring privacy, light control, and thermal comfort.
Fluid Transitions: Folding aluminum panels (“camarão”) seamlessly link private and social spaces.
Spa-Inspired Bathrooms: Stone, wood, and soaking tubs for a wellness retreat feel.
This house stands as a design manifesto, merging the comfort of modern living with a deep respect for natural materials and sustainable techniques.
