This video performance of Tony Vacca's "Bombay" features Avery Sharpe on bass, Derrik Jordan on electric violin, Charles Langford on tenor saxophone, and Tony Vacca on balafon and percussion. It was filmed and recorded in April of 2021 at The Shea Theater in Turner's Falls, Massachusetts.
"We were in the thick of Covid-19, and as you can see we wore masks to protect ourselves and each other. It was a time when we all needed to dive into the music and share the best of what we had to offer. We wound up staying for two days and created two sessions of this extraordinary collaboration. It felt like we were addressing a world that was increasingly hard to recognize, and yet still as filled with wonderment and love as ever. I think that's why we played like we played.
