Quick and Easy: Update BLHeli_S ESCs to Bluejay Firmware

BLHeli_S electronic speed controllers have been around for quite a while, and still work great. However, the newer and more expensive BLHeli_32 escs have features like bidirectional dshot, and choice of PWM signal frequency that traditional BL_Helis escs do not. These features can really improve a quadcopter's flight performance.
Thankfully this is only a firmware issue, not a hardware problem. The features just weren't coded into the original BLHeli_S firmware. You just need to update your BLHeli_S esc to the much newer Bluejay firmware, and you get those same features on the more affordable ESC.
This is a very simple process that takes about 5 - 7 minutes. As a result, you will be able to turn on additional features in Betaflight that will improve your quadcopter's performance.
