100 years after the defeat of the Shadow Dragon Medeus by the hero Anri, Medeus reawakens once again. With the help of the dark sorcerer Gharnef, he takes control of most of the continent, including Marth's home of Altea. Having retreated to Talys for 2 years, Marth, descendant of Anri, must now take back his home, find the Blade of Light Falchion, and defeat Medeus.
