This is a video to support your continued learning around joint health. Joint health is something that we should become more aware of to help reduce the incidence of joint pain and stiffness. The main reason we encounter stiff uncomfortable joints is because of our muscular habits that cause inhibition. I encourage my clients to become familiar of using exercises and movements that support joint decompression. These movements are similar and require minimal effort which allows the joint to return back to a desirable range. A desirable range is one that the joint can move through comfortably where range is close to where it should be for optimum function
All of these movements should be done slowly and intentionally. Slow movements allow the system to take on information, process it and use it to create a desired or a better outcome. Moving slowly allows you to develop, understand and process feedback and when you learn to use this skill, feedback becomes a Superpower.
A couple of points to remember
try to move through the path of least resistance and effort
relax as you move and use gravity to help you where possible
feel the movement rather than just doing a movement.
maintain a concentration where you stay in the moment when possible
If you feel uncomfortable then try to do the same movement in a more relaxed manner or try to reduce the size of the movement to see if that helps. And always remember that our body is different from one day to the next so you could try on a different day
