Whether directly or indirectly, through authority or through influence it is important to know who the stakeholders are, what they need, what they expect and what they want. Want is an important aspect from stakeholders. Understanding wants (i.e. preferences) is equally important because many of the motives, constraints or barriers to change can be discovered in exploring wants.

What does ISO expect?

~The requirements and expectations of these stakeholders with respect to asset management *; The criteria for asset management decision making ;
~The stakeholder requirements for recording financial and non-financial information relevant to asset management, and for reporting on it both internally and externally.
