As worldwide commercial air traffic dropped drastically in recent weeks, general aviation became more likely in major airports. Private Cessna doing touch-and-go's at, let's say, New York JFK, is not a crazy event anymore.

Same story with Amsterdam Schiphol. Though crossing VFR traffic wasn't completely forbidden here, in before-Corona times it was very unlikely to get necessary permission from @luchtverkeersleiding if you have no operational reason for your flight due to jets arriving and departing every minute.

But it's less busy now due to anti-coronavirus measures. Sad circumstances have turned into a rare opportunity: many Dutch general aviation pilots, me including, are using the moment to get the permission and do an orbit or two around the Schiphol сontrol tower and observe unique picture of unprecedented number of jets grounded on parking stands, taxiways and even runways waiting for their time to get back into the air.

Of course, regular application procedures apply and all maneuvers should be strictly coordinated with the tower!
