Puducherry, also known as Pondicherry, is a Union Territory located in the southern part of India. It is situated on the southeastern coast and is surrounded by the state of Tamil Nadu. Puducherry consists of four distinct regions: Puducherry (the main town), Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam. The capital city, which shares the same name as the territory, is often referred to as "Pondicherry."
