Angula bail hearing postponed - nbc

Описание: The bail application for the NAMDIA heist accused Joel Angula has been postponed to 27 January.

The investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Simeon Nghilalulwa, testified that documents detailing the heist plan, written in Max Endjala's handwriting, as confirmed by forensic experts, were found in Endjala's vehicle.

The documents included instructions for restraining employees, placing a blanket on a wall, and scattering some stolen diamonds on the premises.
DNA analysis detected Angula's DNA on the blanket, but his defence attorney, Veikko Alexander, argued he may have touched it after being cut loose by a fellow victim, but the investigating officer countered that, as a former police officer, Angula would know better than to tamper with evidence.

According to the Nghilalulwa, witness statements described Angula as armed and moving around the premises during the heist.

Nghilalulwa therefore strongly opposed bail, warning that Angula might abscond or interfere with the probe, especially given his knowledge of the unretrieved diamonds.

It was also revealed that, of the 412 parcels of stolen diamonds, 14 were recovered from Angula's residence on 19 January.
