The Battle of Homestead Foundation presented a free online panel conversation “Union & Protest Songs: Their History & How We Use Them Today” featuring Dr. Edwin Everhart , Pittsburgh Labor Choir director.
For social justice movements across the globe, music has been a powerful tool for bringing people together and advancing activist goals. Dr. Everhart gives tips on how to be a song leader, using chants for maximum impact, teaching songs to a large group, the simple genius of “zipper songs” and more.
This program is invaluable to anyone looking for new ways to energize vigils, marches, meetings, picket lines and social action gatherings.
The video was Zoom-broadcast July 15, 2021.
