On July 4, 2009, the COP was nearly hit hard by the Taliban and nearly overrun. 3 years later, our Independence Day was a bit calmer and we fired a coordinated illumination mission to mark the day. I crawled up on some Hescos and found a gap between them to film the hill we shot training missions on.
