MUSIC THEORY EP01: Scales and Note Names

Описание: Launching a new series looking at Music Theory, Jono gets started by looking at notes and how they're grouped into scales - the building blocks of composition. He'll introduce the relationships between notes by showing you major and minor scales, including the common variations of the latter.

Jono will also show you that musicians refer to notes by different names - sometimes by note name, sometimes by numbered steps of the scale and sometimes by a set of intervals, which can be used regardless of which key a scale starts on. He'll also introduce the notion of relative major and minor key signatures, explaining how there is a pair of major/minor chords for every note within an octave which share a key signature and fit together, hand in glove.
