In this segment, Dr Groff performs a minimally invasive procedure called Foam Sclerotheraphy to improve the appearance of reticular leg veins. Reticular veins are larger than spider veins.The reticular veins are injected with a chemical foam solution called sotradecol which causes the vein to collapse and disappear. This treatment will permanently get rid of the veins. However, other veins can appear over time .

After the procedure is completed, a compression bandage or elastic compression stocking is applied to each leg. The goal of the compression is to keep the veins compressed so that they do no fill with blood when the patient stands up. The compression bandage/stocking is usually worn for a week or two.

One treatment can show 50% improvement or more. The treatment cost can range between a couple of $100 to $1000. per leg. The cost will depending upon the number and seize of the veins in each leg which will dictate the number of treatments that patient will need.
