On Friday, 28th November in Abuja, we launched Business Advisory Group (BAG), a major step toward bringing businesses and government together to protect Nigeria's biodiversity.
The launch marked the beginning of a new partnership led by the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF), and Natural Eco Capital (NEC), with funding support from Business for Nature (BfN). The aim is to strengthen collaboration and activate stronger private sector involvement in Nigeria’s biodiversity goals.
Nigeria has rich natural resources yet our biodiversity is under serious threat. The private sector has not been fully involved, leaving many opportunities to protect nature and support sustainable growth still untouched. This makes strong partnerships across sectors more important than ever.
Under this project, the newly launched National Business Advisory Group (BAG) will develop a Business Action Plan (BAP) to create a clear roadmap that would show how businesses can support the implementation of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP).
The BAG will serve as a collaborative platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and alignment of corporate strategies with national biodiversity priorities.
