Waitrose No.1 Douro Branco is a beautiful crisp white wine, with 12% Vol, I was kindly gifted from Influenster in exchange for my honest review.
First thing I noticed was that the punt was quite deep, I have noticed with more quality wines that they have deeper punts. So for me this was a very good sign before I even opened the bottle.
Again another good sign I noticed was that it had a cork, meaning that it's a better quality wine as it signify a premium aging potential.
Upon first sip, the wine was very crisp and refreshing, with opening notes of citrus with, a crisp apple flavour, you're then left with a sweet grape after taste.
I think it could basically be paired with any meal. I enjoyed with Christmas dinner and a cheese board in the evening and it paired perfectly with both.
Overall a very enjoyable white wine that I would buy again. It was light and refreshing and especially enjoyable chilled. If you enjoy a crisp yet fruity wine then I highly recommend this one.
