The music video is a follow-up to the previous single "Heartless" and was sponsored by Mercedes-Benz. Filmed in November 2019 between Downtown Los Angeles and Fremont Street in Las Vegas, the director, Anton Tammi, was inspired by the films Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Joker and Casino.
The Weeknd ha eseguito Blinding Lights per la prima volta al Late Show with Stephen Colbert il 6 dicembre 2019, dopo essersi esibito con Heartless allo stesso talk show il giorno prima. Il brano è stato eseguito nuovamente al Jimmy Kimmel Live! il 22 gennaio 2020.
