Have you ever stopped to reflect on your spiritual condition before you surrendered your heart to Christ? If so, you may remember the dark and empty void within your heart. We all began our journey to Christ in the pigpen, much like the prodigal son in Jesus’ parable. We too were sinners — broken, unclean, and undeserving of forgiveness. May we never forget where we came from: that dirty, dark pigpen. Such reflection brings us to a place of deep appreciation for God’s love and saving grace. For we were dead, but now we live; we were lost, but now we are found. Take a moment today to reflect on how Christ has lifted you from the pigpen and welcomed you into the family of God. Let us always praise the Lord.
