The Bucegi Mountains are home to one of Romania's most remarkable natural monuments, the Bucegi Sphinx. The shape of this rock formation resembles a human face, and specialists say it is the product of wind erosion over time. The Sphinx may be found in the Bucegi Natural Park, one of Romania's 16 national parks.
