In this video, PHARMACIST Fi tells the story of Mr A, who accidentally switched around the doses of 2 of his medicines one day, then continued to take those incorrect doses each day for 2 weeks because he never re-read the container labels to double-check doses after starting a medicine... so instead of taking 1 tablet of the first medicine and 2 tablets of the second medicine, he took 2 of the first and 1 of the second.
Disappointing side effects from the first medicine (because he took too much) and lack of benefit from the second medicine (because he took too little) followed… but thankfully this problem was corrected after Mr A’s pharmacist noticed he needed more of the first medicine after only 2 weeks (when the amount he received previously should have lasted 4 weeks… so she figured out he was accidentally taking twice as much of the first medicine; then by asking how and when he was taking each of his medicines – she also figured out he was taking half as much of the second medicine… so he had accidentally switched around the doses of those 2 medicines with very similar-looking round white tablets).
