Try this fruity Custard Trifle recipe layered with fruit cake, fresh fruits, jelly, and chilled custard! Perfect for summer days, parties, or a sweet treat after dinner.
Ingredients:
Milk - 1 liter (for cooking)
Sugar – ½ cup
Custard powder – 4 tbsp
Cold milk – ½ cup (for mixing custard powder)
Fruit cake slices or sponge cake
Mangoes – diced
Bananas – sliced
Apples – diced
Jelly – prepared and cut into cubes
Almonds – chopped (for garnish)
🍮 Instructions:
Prepare Custard Mixture:
In a small bowl, add ½ cup cold milk and 4 tbsp custard powder. Mix well until smooth with no lumps.
Cook Custard:
In a saucepan, heat 1 liter of milk and add ½ cup sugar. Bring it to a gentle boil.
Gradually add the prepared custard mixture while stirring continuously. Continue stirring on medium heat until the custard has thickened.
Let it cool to room temperature.
Assemble the Trifle:
In a large bowl, add a layer of custard at the bottom. Add fruit cake slices on top. Add another custard layer. Add a layer of mangoes, bananas, and apples. Top again with a custard layer. Add jelly cubes on top. Finally, garnish with more fruits and chopped almonds.
Chill & Serve:
Place in the freezer for 20–30 minutes or in the fridge for 1–2 hours until well chilled.
